Hartford County Medical Association has announced Dr. Cohen as secretary/treasurer of their Board of Directors.
November 1, 2016 (Hartford, CT) - During their annual meeting on October 5th, 2016, Hartford County Medical Association (HCMA) announced Mario Cohen, MD, FACOG as secretary/treasurer of their Board of Directors. For the past 17 years, Dr. Cohen has been providing high quality medical care to those in the local community as an Obstetrician Gynecologist and Partner Physician at Greater Hartford Women’s Health Associates, one of Women's Health Connecticut's practices in West Hartford.
“I am very honored to be selected as one of the new Board members for HCMA,” said Mario Cohen, MD, FACOG. “Serving on the Board of such a well-known organization will allow me to provide quality healthcare to the community beyond the walls of my own practice.”
Dr. Cohen is a current member of both the Hartford County Medical Association and the Connecticut State Medical Society as well as a published author of several respected pieces of research related to field of Gynecology. Over the past 20 years, Dr. Cohen has participated in a multitude of research projects contributing to the advancement of his field. He is also a recipient of the Recognition Award from the Brooklyn Gynecological Society and the Society Award from the American Association of Gynecological Laparoscopists.
“Dr. Cohen has collected a wide range of experience by serving the local community with trusted medical care for the past 15 years,” said Sarit M. Patel, MD, President of HCMA. “His unique perspective gained from his international medical experience and education will make him a great addition to our Board of Directors.”
Dr. Cohen earned his Doctorate of Medicine from Cordoba National University in Argentina then went on to complete a rotating internship at Kaplan Hospital in Israel and an OB-GYN internship at Coney Island Hospital in New York. He finalized his medical education by completing the OB-GYN residency program at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York.
The Hartford County Medical Association is a professional association representing physicians from every medical specialty and practice setting as well as medical students, interns, and residents.
