Employment: Full-time
Schedule: A variable schedule, 24 hour call coverage every 4-5 days, Hours vary based on scheduling needs.

Job Summary: Our new midwife partner should be someone who enjoys true midwifery care. Autonomy and the ability to work independently are important as well as the ability to work well with others. Organization and attention to detail, wonderful interpersonal skills and flexibility are required. As an accredited birth center an ability and desire to maintain accreditation and contribute to the accreditation process are mandatory.

Our full scope care includes both low and high risk obstetrics for our pregnant women as well as gynecology care, family planning/contraception, teen and adolescent care, perimenopause/menopause and so much more. We are fortunate to have access to specialists in Maternal Fetal Medicine, oncology, breast surgery, neonatology, radiology, etc. for any needed referrals or consultation. Additionally we are provided with 24/7 obstetric/gynecology backup by compassionate, caring physicians.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Conduct physical examinations and provide medical documentation
  • Utilize ICD-10 coding for accurate medical records.
  • Manage acute pain and provide suturing when necessary
  • Utilize athenaOne EMR system for patient care documentation
  • Provide acute care services to women throughout their pregnancy and postpartum period

Experience:

  • 2-3 years of experience, preferably with both in and out of hospital experience.
  • A qualifying Master’s or Higher Degree in Nurse Midwifery. (ACME)
  • Birth center, or home birth, experience is a plus
  • New graduates will be considered, with an excellent Labor and Delivery nursing background.
  • Autonomy and the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Organization and attention to detail.
  • Interpersonal skills and flexibility are required.
