Our Mission

The physicians and midwives at MOAG are committed to providing the highest level of quality care for women in a professional and caring manner with consideration for individual needs and differences. We strive to provide a continuum of care that is personal, considerate, sensitive, and knowledgeable.

Why should I prepare?
Education offers the opportunity to prepare oneself in mind and body so that the normal fears and discomforts of pregnancy and childbirth may be reduced to a minimum.  The lectures, use of visual aids and charts, exercises, breathing techniques, and relaxation skills one acquires add up to learning how to give birth to a baby as comfortably and safely as possible.  Coaches and support persons will learn skills to enhance their roles in assisting and adding to the mother’s comfort and confidence.

When should I prepare?
Early registration is suggested for the best selection of class dates. Childbirth classes are usually 6-8 weeks prior to your due date.

How should I prepare?

  • By reading articles and books.
  • By attending preparation classes to:
    • Learn exercises; to tone and condition muscles for labor.
    • Learn relaxation techniques to help reduce pain and discomfort.
    • Learn specific breathing techniques to minimize discomfort and enhance control, comfort, and confidence.
    • Learn about available medications.
    • Learn about procedures and cesarean delivery.
    • Learn about the hospital and the physicians’ and midwives’ role during pregnancy and birth.
    • Answer your specific questions and concerns.
