Originally from Scranton, PA, Dr. Eric J. Hodgson attended Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA, and graduated Magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Biology in 1994. In 2002 he received his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD, and completed his internship and residency in Obstetrics/Gynecology in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven, CT in 2007. He completed his Fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Yale University School of Medicine in 2010. He recently earned his Masters in Health Sciences through participation with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Clinical Scholars Program at Yale University School of Medicine.
Dr. Hodgson has a strong interest in patient advocacy and in physician leadership. He served as the National President of the American Medical Student Association in 2002-03 and served on the Executive Board of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists as the National Junior Fellow Chair.
Dr. Hodgson is Board Certified with the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He is an Associate Member of the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine, a Member of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, the American Medical Association, and the Connecticut State Medical Society.
Founding Southeastern Connecticut Maternal-Fetal Medicine Associates in 2012, Dr. Hodgson remains focused on working to improve the safety and quality of obstetric care in Connecticut.
