John Lewis, M.D.

Lewis_john_webDr. Lewis is dedicated to patient-centered medical care and strongly believes that empowered and knowledgeable patients are better equipped to make informed decisions about their own health. He offers second opinions and encourages his patients to seek out second opinions for surgical and other procedures. A Board certified physician in the U.S. and Canada, Dr. Lewis earned his medical degree from McGill Medical School in Montreal, Canada and is fluent in French. He joined The Center for Women's Health In Connecticut in the late 1980s and has served as Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Waterbury Hospital.

Dr. Lewis has a particular interest in menstrual problems, contraception and menopause. He understands the unique attention that each woman’s needs require and is committed to spending the one-on-one time needed to determine a mutually agreed upon course of action specific to each patient. Dr. Lewis has more than 25 years of experience in of women’s health that he draws from daily, and has become the “go-to” person for many of his colleagues. He has been voted one of the CT’s Top Doctors by Connecticut Magazine in 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013 and will always be a “Top Doc” in the eyes of his patients.
