Mark R. Preston, M.D. joined Westwood Women’s Health in August 2002. He graduated Cum Laude from Dartmouth College, Hanover NH in 1985, majoring in Government. After pursuing a career in business, he returned to school and earned his Medical Degree at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, New York in 1996. Dr. Preston served a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital in New York, NY from 1996-2000, where he was elected Administrative Chief Resident.
Dr. Preston completed a fellowship in urogynecology and pelvic reconstructive surgery at Emory University in Atlanta GA and a second fellowship in advanced laparoscopic surgery at the Center for Female Continence in Salinas CA. When in CA he worked with Dr. Jim Ross, a pioneer in the field of laparoscopic reconstructive pelvic surgery.
Dr. Preston has also treated patients and trained medics while volunteering on the Thai-Burmese border at Dr. Cynthia's Mae Tao Clinic; a rural clinic founded, run by, and devoted to displaced Burmese. In his free time Dr. Preston enjoys singing, playing golf and tennis, running, mountain biking, skiing and cooking.
