He is a member of the American Urogynecologic Society and, as a member of the Quality Committee, has been integral in the formulation of proposed national measures to assess quality of care in urogynecology. Additionally, for 3 of the past 4 years he has served as a moderator at the Annual Global Conference for the AAGL, the leading professional society for minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. For the past 8 years he has also been an instructor at Bridgeport Hospital’s Annual Endoscopy Course.

Dr. Preston graduated with honors from Dartmouth College and then earned his medical degree from Columbia University. He completed residency training in Ob/Gyn at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital in New York, where he developed a special interest in pelvic surgery. Dr. Preston then went on to complete a fellowship in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery at Emory University and a second fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery under the tutelage of Dr. Jim Ross, a pioneer in laparoscopic urogynecology. Following completion of his fellowships, he returned to his home state of Connecticut and joined Physicians for Women’s Health in 2002.

Dr. Preston spends most of his free time with his wife and two small children. He also enjoys singing classical music, cooking (and eating), running, mountain biking and travel. Whenever he is able, he travels to the Thai-Burmese border where he volunteers at a medical clinic caring for Burmese refugees fleeing from persecution within their country.
