A member of the Mansfield Obstetrics and Gynecology Associates since 1995, Dr. Helgans is originally a New Jersey native. She received her BS degree in Engineering from Syracuse University in 1985. She graduated from Tufts University Medical School in 1989 with her husband Gregory Turner, MD (a member of Jefferson Radiology Associates). She completed her obstetrics residency training at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center of Hartford in 1993. Dr. Helgans followed her husband through additional training in Philadelphia before returning to Connecticut.
She is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Helgans has two children and lives in Storrs. Her work interests include all aspects of obstetrics and gynecology. Outside of work, she enjoys running, reading, playing the piano, and family activities.
