Women's Health Connecticut is seeking to hire a Full-time, Medical Biller/Coder at New Britain Ob/Gyn!

Position: Medical Biller/Coder
Location: New Britain Ob/Gyn
Address: 1 Grove St. New Britain, CT 06053
Employment Type: Full-time, (40 hours per week)
Schedule: Monday- Friday, 8:30am- 5:00pm
Reports to: Practice Manager

Position Summary: The Medical Biller/Coder will organize patient medical costs and send invoices to collect payment from patients and their insurers.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Properly code medical services, diagnosis, treatments, and more
  • Act as a liaison between insurers, medical offices, and patients
  • Handle confidential information and abide by HIPAA laws and other medical policies
  • Conduct audits
  • Perform completion of claims to payers
  • Achieve maximum reimbursement for services provided
  • Invoice patients and insurance companies for claims or payments
  • Track and collect payments, including setting up payment plans for outstanding bills
  • Correct rejected insurance claims and coding errors
  • Manage patient insurance claims and payment plans
  • Complete Medicare and Medi-Cal reviews
  • Submit billing data to the appropriate insurance providers
  • Additional administrative duties and tasks assigned by leadership

Skills/qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • AAPC or CPC is preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience as a medical billing and coding specialist
  • Computer and technical proficiency
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10 codes
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and basic math
