Women's Health Connecticut is seeking a Full-time, Surgical Coordinator at OBGYN & Midwifery of Connecticut!
Position: Surgical Coordinator
Location: OBGYN & Midwifery of Connecticut
Address: 21 Ledgebrook Dr. Mansfield Center, CT 06250 (with flexibility to cover the Manchester and Colchester offices as needed)
Employment Type: Full-time (40hrs)
Schedule: Monday- Friday, 8:00a- 5:00p
Reports to: Practice Manager
Position Summary: The Surgical Coordinator is responsible for the administrative tasks related to surgical operations, and acts as a liaison between the patients, Physicians, Surgeons and outside affiliations where there surgeries take place, ie. Surgical facilities, hospitals, etc.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- · Serve as a representative of the practice, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration and discretion in all interactions with members of the community
- Assist patients with necessary paperwork and verify insurance information to obtain pre-authorization for all procedures
- Coordinate all surgical scheduling for assigned physicians
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, answer common questions regarding surgical appointments and pre and post-operative instructions, and maintain an accurate surgical schedule
- Assist front office staff as necessary and perform general office duties as assigned
Skills/qualifications:
- · High school graduate or equivalent
- Knowledge of medical terminology and surgical procedures needed to support practice needs
- Excellent customer service skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills
- Previous experience working in a women’s health care facility is preferred
