About Susan Small, MSN, APRN, NNP-BC, IBCLC
Susan brings over 30 years of combined experience in neonatal and pediatric nursing and breastfeeding support to With Women Wellness. She has given care to babies across all levels of medical risk through her experience in Pediatrics, Pediatric ICU, Neonatal ICU’s and well newborn nurseries and has supported women in their breastfeeding experience. Given her extensive experience, Susan facilitated neonatal education for nurses, hospital staff, and parents in NICU’s, Special Care Nurseries and Birthing Centers in several surrounding hospitals. She has a special interest in the proper health management of tongue ties and is credentialed to perform scissors frenotomy on newborns and infants.
Susan received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Kent State University and earned her Master of Science of Nursing, within the neonatal/perinatal track, from the University of Connecticut and practices as a board certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner. She is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and a member of the National Association of Neonatal Nurses, Academy of Neonatal Nurses, the International Lactation Consultant Association, and the International Affiliation of Tongue Tie Professionals, and Tummy Time! TM Method Professionals.
