Position: Front Desk Coordinator
Location: Gynecology & Obstetrics
Main Address: 100 Retreat Avenue, Suite 201, Hartford, CT 06106 (additional offices in Farmington, Glastonbury & Rocky Hill)
Employment: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Schedule: Monday- Friday, 7:45am- 5:00pm
Reports to: Practice Manager
Job Summary: Greet and initiate the Patient Check-In process for all patients to ensure efficient and timely daily office schedules.
Position duties and responsibilities:
- Serves as a representative of WHC, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration and discretion in all interactions with other members of the PWH community, and the public.
- Greet and initiate the Patient Check-In process.
- Verify any and all new/existing patient demographic and insurance information in our electronic medical records software once completed through our electronic check-in process.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility through our electronic medical records software to ensure active coverage.
- Collect/process patient co-payments.
- Reconcile/calculate daily totals on co-payment log.
- Discuss/collect past due balances prior to patient appointment.
- Schedule patient appointments for multiple physicians.
- Follow internal protocols regarding departmental communications.
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Adhere to corporate compliance program guidelines and comply with all safety. policies, practices and procedures within the PWH community.
- Maintain and respect the confidentiality of PHI (Protected Health Information) in accordance with, corporate policy and all HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) mandates. Candidate will have access to PHI based on the HIPAA minimum necessary standards.
- Transportation a must – multiple facilities throughout Greater Hartford Area (Hartford, Farmington, Rocky Hill, Glastonbury)
- Interact with the public, internal PWH community etc. via telephone, face to face contact or written in a courteous and or tactful manner to answer, concerns, questions and or resolve any issues
- Other duties as assigned by management .
Skills/qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Bi-lingual (Spanish preferably)
- Computer skills evidenced by proficiency and /or training with applicable software
- Ability to set priorities
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good mathematical ability
- Customer Service skills a must (professional and courteous)
- Ability to remain seated for up to 8 hours per day.
- Ability to work in fast paced environment.
