About Maria Tompkins, APRN
Maria Tompkins, APRN joined the team at Thameside OB/GYN in November of 2023. She completed her undergraduate nursing degree at Quinnipiac University in 2019, where she graduated with a 4.0 GPA and was awarded the Benjamin & Juliette Trewin Award for Academic Excellence in Nursing. She then pursued her master’s degree at Southern Connecticut State University, graduating summa cum laude in 2023 as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Maria was an emergency department nurse at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center and has even worked at a rural, women’s health clinic in Cusco, Peru.
Maria grew up in Groton, CT, and outside of work, enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her two dogs. She also likes to travel, go to the beach, and try new local restaurants.
Maria is so happy to be here at Thameside, caring for the community that helped shape the woman and provider she is today. She is especially passionate about adolescent and young adult health and hopes to improve the relationship that young women have with their bodies and increase education surrounding common gynecologic issues.
