About Robert Gildersleeve
After growing up in Connecticut, Robert K. Gildersleeve, MD, studied electrical engineering at the University of Connecticut. He quickly realized his preference to work with people and entered the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, graduating in 1995. He followed his wife-to-be (Kristin Gildersleeve, MD, now a family doctor in Hebron, CT) to Colorado where she did her residency. He completed his Obstetrics and Gynecology residency training at St. Joseph Hospital in Denver, Colorado in 1999. Rob and Kristin left many dear friends (and mountains) in Colorado, returning to be closer to both of their families. Rob has been with Mansfield Ob/Gyn since graduating in 1999. He also spent time working as a Gyn specialist at the Neag Cancer Center at the University of Connecticut Health Center. He is proud to maintain affiliations with Yale School of Nursing, instructing Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioners, as well as the University of Connecticut School of Medicine as a clinical instructor. He actively seeks additional training in order to offer the most advanced minimally invasive surgical techniques available.
With patients, Rob finds sharing his experience and training one of the most fulfilling parts of his job. His professional affiliations include the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, the American Medical Association, the Windham County Medical Association, and the Greater Hartford OB/GYN Society.
Rob loves sports and coaches his kids as much as he can (soccer, lacrosse, baseball). Whenever possible he plays lacrosse, hockey, tennis, golf, or anything else. Rob and Kristin’s favorite family activity is skiing, especially when they return to their friends in the Rocky Mountains.
