About Roxanne Abder, MD, MPH
For Dr. Abder, the most rewarding part of practicing medicine is the opportunity to build lasting relationships with women and guide them through some of life’s most important transitions. Whether caring for a teenager at her first gynecologic visit, supporting a woman through a complex pregnancy, or helping her navigate menopause, Dr. Abder believes every patient deserves to feel heard, understood, and confident in her care. Her approach combines clinical expertise, thoughtful communication, and a genuine commitment to treating each woman as an individual—not simply a diagnosis.
A board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist, Dr. Abder has special interests in high-risk obstetrics, adolescent gynecology, and menopause management. Recognized as a Connecticut Magazine Top Doctor and a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner (MSCP), she brings extensive experience and evidence-based medicine to every patient relationship.
Dr. Abder graduated cum laude from Harvard University in 1995. She earned her Master of Public Health (MPH) in International Health from New York University in 1997, with experience in public health research both locally and internationally. She went on to receive her medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine in 2003 and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in 2007.
Dr. Abder joined Women’s Health Care of Trumbull, a Women’s Health Connecticut practice, in 2009 and is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and The Menopause Society.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Abder enjoys spending time with her husband, four children, and two dogs. As an active member of the local community, she takes special pride in caring for generations of women and families in the community she calls home.
