High-Risk Pregnancy
Perinatology is a subspecialty of obstetrics and gynecology for pregnancies that are, or could be considered high-risk because of a problem experienced by either the mother or the fetus. Physicians who practice perinatology are also referred to as maternal-fetal medicine specialists and have acquired specialized education beyond their ObGyn training. A perinatology team typically consists of accredited ultrasonographers, nurses and genetic counselors. Referrals are made to our network of these specialists.
