Women’s Health Connecticut Partners with REAL to Help Parents and Children Impacted by Substance Use
At Women’s Health Connecticut, we understand how difficult it is to have conversations surrounding a child’s possible (or confirmed) substance use. That is why we are proudly announcing our partnership with Recovery Education and Applied-Learning, LLC (REAL), an online subscription service that was created to assist parents and family members in navigating the complexities of a substance use disorder (SUD).
A Place to Get Answers
Determining if your child has an SUD or what to do when you are sure can be overwhelming and often isolating. It can be challenging to find the correct information and resources, but also to find proper support. REAL offers all of this and more, including guidance surrounding topics such as:
Effective communication
Prevention and warning signs
Diagnosis
Boundary-setting
Treatment options
Navigating Insurance and private pay
Outpatient and residential living
Sober living
Criminal and estate issues
Positive reinforcement and celebrating milestones
Rebounding after relapse
In a single online learning platform, parents have access to a variety of resources, including:
Video learning and interviews
Workbooks
Live daily workshops with doctors
Fully vetted library
Therapist-led community
The REAL platform allows loved ones to gain valuable insight from experts and other parents and children with first-hand experience with SUDs. Here, loved ones can learn more about addressing the child’s needs and how to make the necessary decisions to help them regain control of their life and their future.
